Thanks to his guttural vocals in the song’s final minute, James manages to make the song his own and hit you with some emotion.
Lyrically the song is a classic tale of heartbreak but with the weighty vocal from James it’s transformed into a story full of pain and determination summing up his story perfectly. Having listened to him perform it twice on The X Factor final last night, and now having heard the studio version, it’s clear it was actually a pretty good choice for him. James began writing and recording songs at the age of 15, performing as both a solo artist and in bands including Moonlight Drive, Cue the Drama, Save Arcade and Emerald Skye from 2005 to 2011.
When we first heard that was his song we were a little bit worried as it hardly seemed like an ideal fit. The inevitable winner’s single is now upon us and James has been given Impossible, a song that was originally a hit for Shontelle in 2010. Thankfully the public saw sense and picked him over the off-key warblings of Jahmene. Sadly that almost got lost in the faff that was this year’s show when he ended up in the bottom two a few weeks back. He’s actually very talented and possesses a voice that is well beyond his years. The album includes the singles 'Impossible' (Arthurs X Factor winners single), and 'Youre Nobody til Somebody Loves You', as well as collaborations with Emeli Sandé and Chasing Grace. Truth be told we feel pretty sorry for James. James Arthur is the eponymously titled debut studio album by British singer and songwriter James Arthur. It was released on 1 November 2013 by Syco Music. Despite all the headlines and the ‘second chance saloon’ feel of the contestants, viewers still cared enough to vote for a worthy winner in the shape of James Arthur. album: 'No Gravity' (2010) Perfect Nightmare. Writer(s): Arnthor Birgisson, Ina Wroldsen. Thanks to Farida, Demi, Spencer for correcting these lyrics. From bickering judges and declining ratings through to Christopher Maloney making the final and Ella Henderson leaving way too early, the show looks like it’s in quite a lot of trouble. Impossible, impossible I remember years ago Someone told me I should take Caution when it comes to love I did Submit Corrections.
The X Factor has been a bit of a wash-out this year we think it’s fair to say.
